Swiss Programme for Research on Global Issues for Development

COHRED was mandated by the Swiss National Science Foundation to organise a one-day Workshop on March 27th  2015 in Berne on how to build effective international collaborative research partnerships as part of the r4d Skills series of the Swiss Programme for Research on Global Issues for Development.

At this workshop organized by the Swiss National Science Foundation, COHRED informed 27 r4d researcher grant applicants within the relevant thematic modules (Social Conflict, Employment, Food Security, Ecosystem Management, and Public Health) about the principles of equitable partnerships. The workshop aimed to define the best approach for establishing collaboration mechanisms with partner institutions from low-middle income countries (LMICs) and to provide information on how to structure a project agreement with institutions from LMICs using the principles of COHRED’s Fair Research Contracting (FRC) Initiative.

Third Global Symposium on Health Systems Research in Cape Town

On October 3rd 2014, the RFI and FRC were presented and discussed at a panel session on Equity and ethics in research collaborations between high- and low-income countries of the Third Global Symposium on Health Systems Research in Cape Town. Chaired by Dr. Miriam Schuchman, associate professor of the Faculty of Medicine from the University of Toronto, the session was attended by representatives from the ESSENCE group of donors and the WHO. Read more about the event.
