On the occasion of the launch of COHRED Africa in Gaborone, Botswana on November 6th 2014, Research Fairness Initiative (RFI) and Fair Research Contracting (FRC) Initiative were presented and discussed.
Guests at the event included health research experts from Africa, as well as officials from the governments of Kenya, Malawi, Swaziland including representatives from the European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP) as well as private companies. Following the presentations and discussions, several endorsements were collected in favor of the development of the RFI with a strong expression for the need of and Index in international collaborative partnerships in research for health.
