A session on the RFI was held at the annual conference of the CUGH in New York, on 18 March 2018. The session focused on introducing the Research Fairness Initiative (RFI) and critically examining its potential to improve the fairness and impact of global health research partnerships.
After this session, participants would have become familiar with key factors that undermine the fairness of research partnerships; how the RFI addresses these challenges to fairness; and opportunities to participate in the global development of the RFI.
The reception of the RFI was positive with several institutions from both the USA and Canada showing an interest in exploring it further.
