A presentation on the RFI was included on the programme for the EuroScience Open Forum 2018, in Toulouse, France, on July 12, 2018.
The presentation by Carel IJsselmuiden focused on the RFI as a concrete solution to address many of the inequities that exist in research partnerships between High and Low-Middle Income Countries. While much research takes place in LMIC’s, the bulk of funding is allocated to HIC partners.
The RFI provides a concrete way for LMIC partner’s to improve their own internal management processes and in turn increase their negotiating power when it comes to collaborating with HIC’s. The powerpoint presentation can be found here.
